Find the opportunity in every conversation

Michelle Perchuk sitting and talking with a client

Let go of transactions and focus on the conversations/transformations.

Don’t focus on meaningless networking, that concept is old and has no value in todays environment. Instead concentrate on building relationships and collaborating. Focus on scheduling meaningful conversations with people who are interesting and who can provide insights to you.

Stop submitting your resume to jobs nonstop, you are probably spending 80-90% of your time on job boards in a rat race to submit your resume and never hear anything back. Consider reversing the time investment and dedicate most of your time on building relationships and collaborations and the remainder of the time on just submitting to job boards.  Measure your results and discuss setbacks with your career coach. Keep yourself accountable and set up powerful conversations every day.
