Overview

An experienced, senior level executive with expertise in environment and social governance was looking to reenter the workforce after taking time off to expand their young family. Nervous about what the gap in their resume would do to their job prospects, they were struggling to secure interviews and feared having to accept a lower-paying job they would be overqualified for. Challenge

Our client took five years off from work to raise their young family and slowly worked to reenter the workforce by taking on consulting work. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, their consulting opportunities dried up and they began looking for a full-time leadership position that aligned with their experience. Solution

We worked to develop polished assets including a resume, cover letter, and LinkedIn profile that highlighted their experience and expertise and deemphasized the chronology. We built a networking plan that tapped into their rich system of professional contacts and provided guidance on how to expand it, including developing concise and impactful scripts for networking calls and practicing their pitch. These tools helped give them the boost they needed to pursue their next role with confidence.

Results

Our client met their career goal after being offered a leadership role with a leading company in their preferred industry where their expertise was valued. Within the first three months of working with us, they were actively interviewing with three Fortune 500 companies, which led to two offers.
