Why do you need a career coach? A career coach should be part of every professional’s VISION

The answer is simple, if you want a job done right hire an expert. I start many of my webinars and events with an anecdote if you want a nice haircut, do you go to a salon or do you try to cut your own hair?

Better yet, when doing something very important, like filing taxes, do you hire an accountant or do you wing it yourself.

The answer in both cases is simple, you can do it yourself, but the result will not be as favorable as if you would hire an expert. So why take any chances?

In the hair cutting debacle, the hair will grow back, with taxes you can try to learn it yourself and file it on your own. The risk is higher and you may be in danger of creating an audit or owing money to the IRS. That is why many people decide to hire a professional to help them with the important stuff.

So think about this. What can be more important than finding a job that will allow you to make a living? But yet, people still fumble with job boards and send resumes to hopeless ads. Many still hesitate to hire a professional career coach when they to find a job they need or better yet their dream job.

They get disappointed when they don’t get the job and yet keep making the same mistake over and over thinking it’s their resume or experience. Looking for a job is a very stressful event for all of us because out livelihood depends on it. Most job seekers dread this time in their life and jsut pray they will get lucky.

The reality is that luck has nothing to do with it. Finding the job you love is all about being prepared for the opportunity when it comes knocking on your door. So why not invest in an expert who can help you and support you during this challenging time and help you build a plan.

If you are a young college student looking for a job after graduation: Coach Michelle will guide you through the pitfalls and set you up for success with tips and strategies.

If you are a professional looking to get promoted, recognized or move for a better opportunity working and planning with a career progression coach can be priceless for you. Many people fear to ask for promotions during hard economic times, they are afraid to loose their jobs or be perceived as ungrateful. It doesn’t have to be, by working with a coach you can plan out how you ask and approach your manager from strength not from fear. During these times people need to come forth if they have new ideas for their department or for their company. Companies recognize people who speak up and not those who sit and accept the status quo.

And lastly if you are a seasoned executive who is starting to think about retirement or taking a package, this is a critical step for you and it needs to be planned out carefully so you feel comfortable moving forward. You may want to explore consulting opportunities and scale back hours or start that business you never had a chance to. The powerful work I do with my clients allows them to explore and come up with a plan that is right for them.

Coach Michelle has worked with thousands of job seekers and opportunity seekers across the globe. The success stories are amazing and every one of them is a miracle, because these people on their own would not be able to have the insights they had with Coach Michelle.

Hundreds of people hesitate to hire a coach especially when they are not working, but the investment comes back in a form of a promotion or a higher salary negotiation. For example, last month I worked with an executive who was afraid to ask for more money and an extra week of vacation when she was offered a new position. So instead of accepting the offer, she discussed it with me, her coach and we designed a plan of action before speaking to the HR person. Not only did the executive get a 15% salary increase she also got a sign-on bonus. Now that’s a miracle.
